Celebrating Chinese New Year and the Zodiac Tradition

      As the lunar calendar turns a new page, we joyfully welcome the Chinese New Year, marking the beginning of the Year of the Horse. This vibrant festival, also known as the Spring Festival, is a time for family reunions, festive feasts, and hopeful beginnings, rooted in centuries of tradition.

      In the Chinese zodiac, or Shengxiao, each year is associated with one of twelve animal signs in a repeating cycle. The complete cycle includes: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. The Horse is the seventh sign in this cycle, following the Snake and preceding the Goat. According to legend, the Jade Emperor determined the order of the zodiac animals through a race, and the Horse’s speed and competitive spirit earned it a respected place.
